De Baillie Family Tree

Phillip Leone DeBaillie, 90, of Erie, IL, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, in the home of his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Loraine United Methodist Church, rural Prophetstown, IL. Reverend Keith Bradley will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Inurement will be at Loraine Cemetery, rural Prophetstown. Memorials may be directed to Loraine United Methodist Church, 28782 E. 2000th St., Prophetstown, IL 61277 to assist with Operation Christmas Child shoebox expenses.

Phillip was born October 9, 1931, the son of Leon and Lillian (Brown) DeBaillie, in Moline, IL. He graduated from Geneseo High School. On October 16, 1955, he married Eberta Marie Schmoll. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2016. He was employed as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal for thirty years and also owned and operated his farm. He was a member of Loraine United Methodist Church. Phillip enjoyed woodworking, especially making crosses for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. He loved spending time with his family and helping grandchildren with projects.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Loraine (Michael) Henthorn, Erie, Beth Ann DeBaillie Fox, Urbandale, IA, Laurel Resendez, Woodstock, GA, and Lee (Jennifer) DeBaillie, Verona, WI; grandchildren, Nicolas Henthorn, Neal Henthorn, Brennan Fox, Tyler Fox, Rachel Resendez, Olivia Resendez, Edward Resendez, Jr., Phillip DeBaillie, and Anna DeBaillie; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Gerald DeBaillie, Orion, and sister Darlene Wyffels, Geneseo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Lillian, brother Arnold, and his loving wife, Eberta.
